Walden Chamber Players

The Walden Chamber Players are current and former members of such prestigious musical organizations as the Boston Symphony Orchestra, the Boston Pops, the Vienna Philharmonic, the Philadelphia and National Symphony Orchestras. The members are on the faculty of many of New England's premier musical teaching institutions.

Marianne Gedigian, flute, performs regularly with the Boston Symphony Orchestra, and has appeared twice as soloist under John Williams. She has been first prizewinner in the National Flute Association's Young Artists Competition and was formerly a member of the Dorian Wind Quintet.

Irina Muresanu, violin, was praised by The Boston Globe as "not just a virtuoso, but an artist …" She has won top prizes at several major competitions and was awarded Special Commendation for her recording of Schoenberg's Fantasy for violin. Her violin is a 1956 Joseph Rocca courtesy of Mr Mark Ptashne.

Christof Huebner, viola, and Artistic Director of Walden Chamber Players, was born in Vienna, attended the Vienna Conservatory and the Wiener Musikhochschule, where he won First Prize in Competition in 1984. As a Fulbright Scholar he continued his studies with Michael Tree at the Saint Louis Conservatory where he received his Artist Diploma and First Prize at the Concerto Competition in 1986.

Ashima Scripp, cello, is a native of Boston and a multiple prize winner. She performs widely in orchestras and as a soloist. She holds degrees from the Manhattan School of Music and Northwestern University.

Jonathan Bass, piano, has appeared as soloist with numerous American orchestras and he is a first prizewinner of the 1993 Joanna Hodges International Piano Competition, the American National Chopin Competition, as well as the American Pianists
