Austin Hartman, violin The BIAVA QUARTET, founded in 1998, has become one of the top young American quartets. After winning the 2003 Naumburg Award, it appeared at the Library of Congress, Jordan Hall, and toured South Korea. It made a critically acclaimed debut at Alice Tully Hall. Upcoming performances will include debuts at Los Angeles Da Camera Society, Newtown Friends of Music, and return engagements at Lincoln Center. The quartet continues its studies at Yale University, while assisting the Tokyo Quartet there. |
| Austin Hartman, violin, a graduate of New England Conservatory, debuted with The Philadelphia Orchestra in 1996, as winner of the Mann Music Center Competition. He was recently the winner of the concerto competition at the Atonement Bach Festival. Hyunso Ku, violin, began playing at age four in her native Korea. Before moving to the Cleveland Institute of Music in 1999, Ms Ko was awarded grand prize at the Ahn Iktae Music competition. Mary Persin, viola, of Greensburg, Pennsylvania, is a graduate of the New England Conservatory and the Cleveland Institute, where she was a former principal violist. Jacob Braun, cello, acclaimed for his "distinctive, resonate sound," has established himself as a recitalist and chamber musician. He has recently performed concerti with the Ars Nova Orchestra of Buffalo and Cleveland Institute of Music. | |

Pavel Vinnitsky, clarinet, has performed in Europe, Russia, Israel, China and the USA. In 1990, he immigrated from his native Ukraine to Israel where he became principal clarinetist with the Youth Philharmonic Orchestra and, more recently, clarinetist with Habima National Theater and Raanana and Beer Sheva Symphony. Mr Vannitsky is working on his Master's Degree in Music at Yale. |
