The Quartetto di Venezia was founded more than a decade ago when its members were students together at the Venice Music Conservatory, "Benedetto Marcello." Their artistic and personal philosophy derives from two important schools of interpretation of the string quartet: the famous "Quartetto Italiano," with whom the members studied for three years, and the Central European school of the renowned Hungarian "Vegh Quartet." Their concentration on quality of sound, bowing technique and vibrato, and their emphasis on the individuality of each instrument characterizes the quartet's work. The Quartetto has been broadcast in Italy on WQXR and has recorded extensively,
